Swedish massage is generally what people think of when they think of getting a massage.  It uses a collection of massage techniques designed to increase circulation, relax tense muscles caused by stress and overuse, helps eliminate toxins in the body and soothes the nervous systems.

This massage technique is used within a swedish massage session.  With this technique, the therapist works deep into the muscle tissue and fascia (connective tissue) to release  over-contracted muscles. 

A trigger point is an extremely tender area inside taut muscle tissue.  The therapist locates and deactivates the trigger point with deep pressure.

A specialty massage that uses smooth, warmed stones, either as an extension of the therapist's hands or by placing them on areas of the body while they massage other areas.  The warmed stones can be very relaxing and also warm muscle groups, which allows the therapist to work more deeply.

Raindrop Technique is the application of pure essential oils to the feet and along the spine.  The oils used are anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory and are meant to bring the physical, emotion and mental balance to the mind and body.

Mastectomy massage is a specialized massage for women in all stages of breast cancer.  For the woman with breast cancer, a gentle touch can provide much needed relief from the pain and stress of the disease, while taking into consideration her specific needs, such as medications, surgeries and the different stages of recovery she may be e.xperiencing.  Also, with more localized work, massage can decrease scar tissue from surgery that limits range of motion.
